*Job Title:* Driver Assistant
*Location:* New York
*Job Type: *Full Time, Temp to Perm
*Schedule:* Regular Working Hours
*Pay Rate:* $20.00/hour

*About the Role:*

We're partnering with a logistics company to hire a *Driver Assistant* who will play a vital role in supporting delivery operations related to biological, medical, and life science shipments. In this fast-paced role, you'll assist drivers, ensure shipment integrity, support cold chain logistics, and coordinate with operational staff to meet tight deadlines and compliance standards.

*What You'll Be Doing:*

*Driver & Logistics Support*

* Coordinate pick-up and delivery details with drivers, ensuring all documents and special instructions are ready.
* Help prepare and verify shipments, including airport logistics and airline handovers.
* Assist with loading and unloading packages, especially those exceeding 50 lbs.
* Perform vehicle checks and support basic maintenance when needed.
* Assist in the handling of temperature-sensitive shipments, including re-icing, repackaging, and gel pack maintenance.
* Maintain compliance with handling protocols for biological and medical materials.
* Accurately log transportation activities including vehicle inspections, mileage, and incident reports.
* Ensure full adherence to TSA, airport, and company SOPs related to secure and confidential transportation.

*Requirements:*

* Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (CDL not required).
* Ability to lift and carry packages up to 50 lbs.
* Basic knowledge of cold chain logistics and biohazard handling (preferred).
* Effective communication skills; bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
* Familiarity with barcoding, scanning, or tracking systems (nice to have).
* Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
* A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with the ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.
